Vitol Inc. informed U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. that it will no longer supply liquified petroleum gas, or LPG, to USVI Water and Power Authority, or WAPA, power plants on St. Thomas and St. Croix.

The company estimates that based on current inventory and demand estimates, without the Vitol LPG supply, the St. Croix plant will cease operations on Nov. 30 and the St Thomas plant will cease operations on Dec. 2.
