U.S. Tobacco Cooperative Inc.
, a Raleigh, N.C.-based grower-owned tobacco products marketing cooperative, filed for chapter 11 protection today in the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, along with five affiliates, including Premier Manufacturing Inc.
, which produces consumer tobacco products under the brand names of Manitou, 1839, 1st Class, Shield, Traffic, Ultra Buy and Wildhorse. The company reports $100 million to $500 million in both assets and liabilities. The debtors are represented by Hendren, Redwine & Malone in Raleigh. The case number is 21-01511.
