Spanish bakery group MonBake is defying the widespread slump in the food sector, with its top and bottom lines continuing to beat budget during August, helped by better-than-expected pass-through of input cost inflation. As a result, the Ardian-owned company expects to exceed its full-year budget, sources said.

Sales reached €36.1 million in August, ahead of €30.9 million budgeted and the €27.1 million MonBake generated the same month last year. EBITDA came in at €5.8 million,
