Cosmoledo, LLC, doing business as Maison Kayser in New York City, filed for chapter 11 protection today in the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York along with several affiliates. The company reports $10 to $50 million in assets and $50 to $100 million in liabilities. The debtors are represented by Mintz & Gold as counsel and CBIZ as financial advisors, accountants and consultants. The case number is 20-12117.

Resolutions attached to the petition indicate that the board of directors has decided to sell the company's assets to
Aurify Brands, the operator of The Little Beet, Melt Shop, Fields Good Chicken and various NYC Five Guy locations. As part of that anticipated transaction, Aurify would buy the secured debt of Moussechoux, Inc. in the debtors, for $1 million, and such debt will be credit bid. Moussechoux is the parent of Cosmoledo and Cosmoledo is the sole member of the other debtors.
