Portability in leveraged loans is rare, unlike in high-yield bonds. Over the last five years, portability has been present in about 6% of leveraged loans (on average) compared to 42% in high-yield bonds. In this time period, as illustrated below, the presence of portability in loans has remained steady although the numbers were lower in 2016 and 2020.
